Committed
to Raising “Quality” Red
Cattle
Neidig Farms has been
raising red Simmental, Red Angus and composites for over
25 years. Our commitment to quality over the years is
noticeable in our herd. Maternal traits and fertility
are the cornerstone of our program. We pride ourselves
not only on length of body, thickness, style and
capacity but also temperament and disposition.
We
run a cow/calf operation. Our herd is made up of working
mama cows. They don’t receive special attention at any
time of the year (unless of course they make the boys’
4-H pen ~ then they get pampered from about March till
September). The cattle you see pictured on this site
have been running on native Nebraska Sandhills hard
grass since the end of May. Typically the cattle enter
corn stalks between October and November and are not
given any supplemental feeds until after January 1st
when the they are brought home, where they winter and
calve on a half section of corn stalks.
A stringent vaccination
program, some of the best natural service bulls and
extensive use of AI bulls round out the Neidig Farms' Red
Cattle Program.
